On April 7 & 8, as I lace up my skates for the annual RCCS Hockey Classic, I'm not just playing a game—I'm skating in memory of a truly remarkable soul, my niece Kiki Schwartz (Yakira Leeba bat Avraham Yosef Yehuda v' Sara Gita A"H). Though we lost Kiki last June, her indomitable spirit and unwavering smile in the face of adversity continue to inspire all who knew her. Despite not reaching her fourth birthday and battling through numerous surgeries and procedures, Kiki taught us the essence of resilience and the power of maintaining joy in life's toughest moments. While her journey wasn't directly touched by cancer, her life's message of fighting through challenges with grace and a smile embodies the spirit of what we aim to support through the RCCS Hockey Classic.
The RCCS plays a pivotal role in providing hope and vital support to cancer patients and their families. It stands as a beacon of light, tackling the enormity of cancer's challenges—easing the path of medical treatment, covering insurance premiums, and making life-saving cancer care accessible. Without RCCS, over 5,194 individuals would face their darkest moments with diminished hope. This organization ensures that no one has to walk the path alone, offering a helping hand at every step of the journey towards recovery and survival.
In playing for this cause, we honor not only the courageous fight of those battling cancer but also the inspiring legacy of Kiki Schwartz. Let's channel her relentless positivity and resilience as we face off against cancer. Please join me in this life-saving mission by supporting my participation in the RCCS Hockey Classic.
