What Is The RCCS Hockey Classic?
The RCCS Hockey Classic is a unique tournament, that challenges its participants in fundraising and competitive hockey. Founded in 2018, with the purpose of increasing awareness and support of RCCS (RofehCholim Cancer Society),andbuilding community involvement through passion for hockey.
What is RCCS?
The Rofeh Cholim Cancer Society provides an array of services to cancer patients and their families, enabling them to secure the best possible medical care. Notably, among the myriad services offered by RCCS is health insurance premium and medical services subsidies, as well as medical direction, which provides patients with broader access to global oncologists and leaders in the cancer treatment field.
What is the tournament date?
The tournament dates are April 6th and 7th 2019
Where will the tournament take place?
The playoffs and championship games will be played at ICE House (Hackensack NJ), and some play-in games will also be played at Ice Vault and Floyd Hall Arena.
How will the tournament work?
All the participating teams will compete in 3 play-in games. After those games are completed, the teams will reseed and compete in a single elimination playoff. For those who lose during the playoffs, a consolation games will be offered.
What are the game rules?
Each game will feature 3 fifteen-minute periods with stopped time. All hockey penalties will be enforced according to the refereeā€™s discretion. There will be no checking allowed and any intentional checking will result in a penalty. Any fighting or inappropriate behavior will result in an immediate ejection from the tournament. All ties will result in a shootout.
Will there be food?
On Saturday night, there will be food, snacks, drinks, and beer for all the players. On Sunday, there will be breakfast at the Ice House and food served throughout the day.
Are Families invited to attend?
On Sunday, April 7th there will be a family festive atmosphere with entertainment, giveaways, food, popcorn, and cotton candy for the kids to cheer on their fathers, brothers and cousins as they compete for the RCCS Hockey Cup.

Is the a minimum participant age?
Yes. All players must 18.
What are the fundraising requirements?
Each player must raise $1500 and collectively each team of 16 must raise $25,000. If the individual commitment isn't raised, the difference will be charged to the credit card on file.
